How to get here:
International carriers such as American Airlines, Continental, Copa, Taca, Aeromexico, Spirit, and Delta airlines provide direct flights daily from Miami, Houston, and Atlanta to Managua’s International airport. These carriers also offer connecting flights from most European countries. NicaRetreats will take care of your transportation to and from the Managua airport on your travel days. Once you have confirmed your air travel arrangements and customized retreat package we will take care of the rest.
Dress:
Nicaragua has two seasons, which consist of a rainy season (mid-May to mid-November) and a dry season (end of November to early May). It is a tropical climate, therefore light, comfortable clothing is always best, It is wise to have comfortable shoes as well for walking, hiking, and exploring. If you plan to participate in the many water activities, be sure to pack swimwear as well. NicaRetreats will provide the fun supplies you need for your land and sea adventures, such as snorkel gear, surf boards, SUP’s, fishing gear, etc.
Travel Documents:
You do need a passport to visit Nicaragua and it must be valid at least 6 months, meaning it can’t expire while you are here. So make sure your passports are up to date!
Credit Cards and Traveler’s Checks:
These are accepted in most establishments and banks throughout the country. ATM’s can be found in many of the tourist areas.
Currency Exchange:
The most frequent currency exchange in Nicaragua is from the American dollar to the Cordoba. American dollars are also commonly accepted throughout the country.
Internet:
We do have Internet and cellular services available during your retreat should you need them. We do recommend that you ‘unplug’ to some degree during your stay, because we want you to get the most out of your retreat and time with us in this amazing place!
